Fraser Coast Baptist Church’s Ministries

Sunday Morning
There are many opportunities to minister on a Sunday morning from teaching Sunday School or Kids Church to playing a part in the worship service. Please enquire if you’d like to minister on a Sunday morning.

Thursday Morning All Welcome Bible Study
This fun group meets for fellowship at 9.30am each Thursday. All are welcome to attend. The group a time of sharing, a time of prayer and a Bible study with some morning tea of course. The Vision for the small group is to share the love of God with others; to build each other up in the spirit of unity and understanding as part of God’s family; and to use the meeting as an opportunity for new-comers to get to know the Pastor & some members of the congregation better.

Prayer Warriors

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. Our Church is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty.  If you would like to be on either the phone or email prayer chain please give your details to the Prayer Chain Convener by emailing Cecelia at johnceceliat@gmail.com.

Hospitality
We have Morning Tea after our service and all are welcome to stay and enjoy a cuppa or cool drink whilst having a chat and time of fellowship.
We have a fellowship lunch (bring a plate of food to share) on the third Sunday each month from March to November.

PAL Groups
We have a variety of small groups, which we call PAL groups (named after our values) in the church that meet regularly in people’s homes. Please enquire if you’d like to join one or even start hosting a gathering. They’re a great opportunity to express the “one-anothers” to the body of Christ on a regular basis and be edified while doing it.

Heart Sisters & Soul Brothers
This is a ministry to make fulfilling the 50-odd “one anothers” in Scripture that we are instructed to do. Sometimes being part of a small group is an impossible task for someone, which could be due to a number of factors, the biggest one probably being their work schedule. Heart Sisters & Soul Brothers exists to allow anyone and everyone to “love one another” and not be overwhelmed by it. What if you only have the capacity to love just one person in the congregation?

The way HS & SB works is that when you sign up to this ministry, you are anonymously assigned one person of the same gender to be your buddy, whom you are responsible for praying for, encouraging, supporting…whatever the Lord leads you to do. The idea is to keep your anonymity throughout the year till around Christmas time where we hold a reveal party to see who our buddy was the whole year.

Sign-up for HS & SB occurs at the beginning of the year, the week after our Vision Sunday & Church Anniversary (always the last Sunday in January); however, new people are invited to sign-up whenever they’d like. We encourage you to speak to Judith Finden if you wish to sign-up to be part of this ministry or use the Contact Us tab to send her a message.

Emergency Food Pantry
We provide emergency food and hygienic supplies to people in the area that have unexpectedly run out of basic necessities. Our emergency food pantry exists to provide the gap needed to help before they can acquire a more solid and permanent solution to their problems through bigger charities and organisations than ourselves. Pick up times for food parcels are Wednesdays 4-6pm, Thursdays 9-11am and Sundays 9-11am.

Fairhaven Nursing Home Chapel Service
On the 2nd Tuesday of each month, the Pastor with a group of volunteers from Fraser Coast Baptist Church visit Fairhaven down the road and minister to the folk there by providing a worship service consisting of singing, prayer, communion and special items (during school terms) from Bayside Christian College.

Card Ministry
Do you need a card for a particular occasion? At the back of the church auditorium, you’d find an abundance of card for various occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, condolences and many others. All we ask for is a donation that goes towards Missions. If you’d like to help out in this ministry, feel free to reach out. We’d love to have more on board!

Prayer Meetings
We hold two prayer meetings a week at the church, which we invite anyone and everyone to join:

The first one being a pre-service prayer meeting at 9:15am in the creche.

The second one is on Wednesday evenings and is what we like to call, our Family Prayer Group, which begins at 4:30pm. We send out a text message that day, giving an opportunity for the congregation to send through their prayer requests and/or praise points, particularly if they’re unable to join us in person. Feel free to use the Contact Us tab to reach out and ask to be put on our SMS List.

Weekly Email from Pastor Tim
As a ministry, Pastor Tim sends out an email each week to the congregation with some encouragement from Sunday’s message and any important events that would be coming up soon, whether that be in the community or in our local church. Once again, feel free to use the Contact Us tab to reach out and ask to be put on our Email List. Alternatively, come on a Sunday and fill in a Visitor Card, indicating you’d like to subscribe to the email list.

Stamps Ministry
Did you know that stamps from your posted envelopes can raise money to support missions, here in Queensland and even overseas. Fraser Coast Baptist Church has a Stamp Convener that organises our stamps to be sent to headquarters in Brisbane where they use stamps to generate finance to help support various missionaries, both local and abroad. Drop off your stamps in the container at the back or arrange a time with the Convener to pick up your stamps if you are unable to come by the church. Send your request via the Contact Us page.

Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow

The Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow ministry provides activities and social connection for those facing ageing or isolation. It is a partnership between Simple Solutions, who bring professional expertise, and the local Church, who provide pastoral and spiritual care.

Although originally focused on supporting people with dementia and their carers, the group soon recognised the wider challenge of loneliness in the community. Caring for a loved one with dementia is demanding, and often, after a passing, the surviving spouse’s main connections are found in the YTT group. This ministry continues to walk alongside all who feel isolated.

The group meets on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month, 10:00am–12:00pm. Please contact Bob Chopping if you are interested in attending or maybe even helping out to keep this ministry thriving.

Healing and Deliverance
We at Fraser Coast Baptist Church believe a Christian cannot be possessed by both the Holy Spirit and a demonic spirit at the same time; however, we believe a Christian can be demonised either by a past lifestyle of unrepentant sin or an habitual sinful lifestyle that they may be currently living. Ephesians 4:27 instructs us to not allow the devil to get a foothold. There are times where that Christian may need an inner-healing experience and/or a deliverance from the demonic spirit that is wreaking havoc inside that person’s soul. Feel free to reach out to the Pastor by clicking the Contact Us tab and send a message that explains the situation you or someone you may know is experiencing, which is causing you to think that you or them may need some kind of healing or deliverance.

Access to RightNow Media
Did you know our church has a subscription to RightNow Media? It’s like the Netflix of Bible studies, with thousands of video resources for individuals, families, kids, and small groups. Whether you’re looking to grow in your faith, strengthen your marriage, or find fun, faith-filled content for your children, it’s all there. If you’re associated with Fraser Coast Baptist Church, you receive access to RightNow Media for free. Our church fits the bill. Pastor Tim periodically sends out an invite link in his weekly emails; however, if you’d like access sooner rather than later, feel free to send him a message by using the Contact Us tab.

Church Library

One of the many purposes of a Pastor is to equip the saints to do the work of the ministry (Ephesians 4:11). Ultimately, it’s done through the preaching of God’s Word but there are other ways this can be done.

One such way is drawing from resources that other people have produced, whether it be by books, magazines, DVDs, or any other types of media. We have an array of books and DVDs in our church library that is located in our small office area at the back of the auditorium.

You are more than welcome to come on Sunday anytime and browse through what we currently have on offer. Feel free to borrow if there’s anything you see of interest and return at your convenience.

Religious Instruction
Religious Instruction (RI) would not happen if it weren’t for the generosity of the local church. Who else would pay for the curriculum? And praise God, giving to support RI in Hervey Bay is tax-deductible. Would you please pray about giving towards this significant ministry in our town! See below for account details if God is leading you to give.

Fraser Coast Baptist Church supports the ministry of Religious Instruction 100%. We understand the significance it has in our community and the potential it has to change children’s lives. Pastor Tim is the secretary of Hervey Bay’s local RI Committee, whom are on the journey of finding the right person to fill the vacancy of a paid RI Coordinator. Unfortunately, Hervey Bay has a shortage of RI teachers. Currently, there are more students wishing to participate in RI than there are teachers, who are willing to take a class.

Therefore, we encourage you to pray about whether God wants you to become an RI Teacher. There are currently over 600 students, who have elected to participate in RI, but cannot because there are not enough volunteers available to teach. This is a sad reality! Maybe there’s one person in our congregation, whom God wants to teach RI.
